Aggression associated with dementia is a major problem in long-term care homes, sometimes resulting in serious harm or even death. The current system is ill equipped to manage this issue. CAMH has developed a new approach to care focused on reducing aggression quickly by minimizing overmedication and inefficient treatments. This approach is easily adaptable to health care environments beyond CAMH and our goal is to export to as many centres as possible.
