Made another trip to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway earlier this week, with more great surprises. We initally took the 35006 Merchany Navy Locomotive and then on the way back, stopped off for lunch and then took another train back hauled by the GWR 7903 Foremarke Hall Locomotive from the 6959 "Modified Hall" Class.
Originally built in 1949, the engine was withdrawn from service in 1964 until being rescued from the Woodham's Scrapyard in 1981 and underwent restoration for over 20 years, before finally going back into working order in 2003. Then withdrawn for an overhaul in late 2013, it took a few years for it to complete and came back in 2017, and has remained on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway ever since.
