AMUURA Beach Houses architecture is very much inspired by Geoffrey Bawa, the famous architect and his brother Bewis Bawa, the art connoisseur.



Right at our gate, street life starts with fish-market, hand-loom, Sri Lankan traditional processions, the Kandevihare temple with the biggest Buddha of Sri Lanka, Galle Fortress with its nice little streets for shopping and discovering.

Nature isn't far either, Thambadola waterfall, Sinharaja rain-forest and of course homes and gardens of Geoffrey ( Lunuganga ) and Bewis Bawa ( Brief Garden ) are just a short drive away!


Last but not least the most important garden Amuura Permaculture Farm. Here we grow all sorts of organic vegetables spices, we reforest rare ayurvedic trees and of course take care of the most delicious un-sulphered organic cinnamon in the world.

Back in AMUURA Beach House you treat your body with yoga, traditional Ayurveda massages, drinks and a divine sunset.
