The Jeep Wrangler has always stayed true to its roots as a supremely capable off-road vehicle. Substantially updated this year, the 2024 Wrangler carries on that tradition and delivers even more capability. The Wrangler is a body-on-frame SUV with front and rear solid axles supported by a flexible coil spring suspension. These rugged components give the Jeep exceptional slow-speed off-road performance. That's especially true for the top-level Rubicon model with its locking front and rear differentials, special ultra-low-geared two-speed transfer case for four-wheel drive, and front sway bar that can detach at the push of a button. Opt for either the Rubicon X or the beastly quick Rubicon 392 (both with 35-inch tall tires), and you'll have a Wrangler that can make short work of just about any trail. New this year is an optional 8,000-pound-capacity front-mounted Warn winch. It's a smart option that allows drivers to pull a vehicle out of a sticky off-road jam. The updated Willys model is a bit less capable than the Rubicon, but still an off-road performer thanks to an electronic locking rear differential paired with 33-inch tires (the same as on the standard Rubicon) and matching fender flares.
The refreshed 2024 Wrangler also gets a host of interior updates, making it a more comfortable daily driver. A 12.3-inch infotainment system is a noticeable upgrade, as are the power-adjustable front seats.
What's New for 2024: This 2024 Jeep Wrangler receives a small makeover. The Wrangler gets a new front grille, and the previous mast-type antenna is replaced with one embedded into the windshield for a cleaner look. Ten new wheel designs are available. The trim lineup has been culled to eight models, two of which are new: Sport S 4xe and Rubicon X. Rubicon buyers gain a new full-floating rear axle, which not only adds off-road durability but also boosts tow ratings on some models to 5,000 pounds. A 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system is now included on all Wranglers as are side curtain airbags for front and backseat passengers. And for the first time, Wranglers can be optioned with power front seats. Modifications to the frame have been made to improve safety ratings. New noise-canceling measures make the cabin noticeably quieter. The powertrain choices are largely unchanged, with the exception of the diesel model, which Jeep has canceled. Willys models now ride on taller 33-inch tires and have a standard electronic locking rear differential. Jeep has massaged 4xe models to deliver better battery regeneration during coasting or braking; they can now be optioned with a 30-amp Power Box to export power from the battery pack to four 120-volt outlets.
