BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Former NBC 33 News anchor Fred Hickman has passed away, he was 66 years old.
Hickman anchored the evening newscasts on NBC 33 from 2015 to 2018.
During that time Fred Hickman helped moderate the debate for Governor between former U.S. Senator David Vitter and then State Representative John Bel Edwards.
Hickman had a long and distinguished career in broadcasting which included CNN’s Sports Tonight program. Hickman also worked at ESPN, TBS, and the YES Network. Most recently he was the evening anchor at the Black News Channel.
Fred Hickman is survived by his wife Sheila.
