Azure Monitor VM Insights, and Update to Azure Functions Cosmos DB extension version 4.

Log Analytics agent–based virtual machine insights will be retired on August 31st, 2024. As published on October 6th, users of Log Analytics agent–based virtual machine insights should migrate to Azure Monitor agent–based virtual machine insights.Azure Monitor insights includes improvements such as: - Enhanced security and performance. - Data collection rules for cutting costs. - A simplified management experience and efficient troubleshooting. Ensure that your environment is using a supported version of virtual machine insights by migrating to Azure Monitor agent–based virtual machine insights by August 31st, 2024.

Azure Cosmos DB extension for Azure Functions is built on Microsoft.Azure.DocumentDB SDK. This extension, and the SDK, are scheduled to be retired on August 31st, 2024. For continued support, upgrade to Azure Functions Cosmos DB extension version 4. After the retirement date, applications using extension version 3 will continue to operate, but will not be eligible for new features, security patches, or performance optimizations.
