Before Joan Crawford became one of the top leading ladies of her time, she allegedly performed in at least one dirty film and on top of that, she may also have been underage at the time. We’ll never know the truth of this matter, because every copy of the film was allegedly hunted down by Crawford’s later employer, MGM Studios. When Crawford parted ways with MGM in 1943, she paid them $50,000, an odd gesture in itself… unless one assumes it was a repayment for making her embarrassing film debut go away.
