Shola is a dish which comes from the city of Peshawar. It is called Shola because it is extremely spicy and mouth burning yet you can't stop eating it. Coming from a Lahori background I had not heard or tried Shola until I met my wife. Initially I thought it was just a normal khichri but please do not be deceived by the looks of this dish. I promise you that this slow cooked lamb rice dish will quickly become one of your favorite dishes. This dish is best served with lemony kachoomar salad, mint or coriander chatny or achaar.
