On October 6, 2017, APA and its partner organizations — the National League of Cities, the Brookings Institution, Eno Transportation Center, Mobility Lab, and George Mason University/Mobility E3 — convened to develop a playbook for cities and regions on all things autonomous vehicles (AV). The playbook and agenda for further research will identify how these communities can maximize the benefits and minimize the potential negative consequences associated with the deployment of autonomous vehicles.
In his opening keynote, Jeff Tumlin of Nelson\Nygaard set a forward-looking, visionary tone for the day's discussions by establishing a common ground for the status of autonomous vehicle technology and a vision of success for the day.
