The Blue Lagoon (br / pt: A Lagoa Azul) is an American film of romance, drama and adventure in 1980, produced and directed by Randal Kleiser. The screenplay by Douglas Day Stewart was based on the novel The Blue Lagoon by Henry De Vere Stacpoole. The film is starring Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins. The original score was composed by Basil Poledouris and the cinematography was by Nestor Almendros. The film tells the story of two young children abandoned in a tropical island paradise in the South Pacific. Without guidance or restrictions of society, emotional feelings and physical changes arise as they reach puberty and fall in love. Shields was only 14 at the time of filming and later testified before a U.S. Congressional inquiry that older one stunt was used in some of its scenes of nudity. In addition, during the photo film in its frontal sinuses were always covered by their long hair or in other ways. It was also stated that Shields hair was pasted on her breasts during many of her topless scenes.
