Batman Arkham Shadow is so close to being one of the BEST VR games ever made, it has one of the, if not THE, best VR combat systems I've ever experienced, some of the best standalone visuals I've ever seen on the Quest platform and a tight knit, investigation heavy story that kept me invested until the very end... but it currently wrestles with one too many glitches, bugs and progress stalling issues that hold it back from reaching the absolute heights of VR greatness. This Batman Arkham Shadow review / Batman Arkham Shadow gameplay was captured during the pre-release period and reflects the version of the game I was able to play pre-launch, so patches may come as soon as launch day to rectify the issues I had, but at the time of writing this review I had to battle not only wave after wave of Gothams most violent goons but also wave after wave of performance issues and soft lock moments in the otherwise incredible 12-14hr long campaign. Batman Arkham Shadow could be a 9/10 VR experience but the launch version of the game sits closer to a 7.5 due to the issues that impacted my time with the game. I'm confident that patches WILL bring this amazing game up to the standard it deserves to be but it's a shame that won't be the experience for some players who are eager to jump in as soon as possible.

Batman Arkham Shadow is a TRUE Arkham game and a worthy addition to that franchise, it just needs a little more love to reach it's full potential.
