John Power’s version of the song ‘Waterford’ has become a classic in ballad sessions all over Ireland. John's delivery and true connection with the lyrics and spirit of the song are a delight to the listener. Pride in place abound in every turn of the song and it is brought to life by John's local accent and unique delivery when singing. The song was written by Liam O’Neill.

Stop, Look, Listen is a project by Michael Fortune featuring eighteen local traditional songs from County Waterford and features songs from Karan Casey, Ann Mulqueen, John ‘The Miller’ Power, Michéal Marrinan, Joe Power, Finbarr Timmins, Liam Clancy, Larry Joy and Aodán Ó Ceallaigh. These songs were researched and recorded by Michael between February and June 2017 as part of a wider heritage project on the Waterford Greenway.

Users of the new Greenway which connects Waterford City to Dungarvan Town are greeted along the route with signs which will encourage them to take out their smart phones and ‘Stop, Look and Listen’ to specific traditional songs from different parts of the county. The project was commissioned by The Heritage Office of Waterford City and County Council and was launched in Kilmacthomas Primary School in June 2017.
