This video shows how to use FX Slots 1 thru 4 as INSERTS rather than their default settings of send and return FX rack slots in the Midas M32 or Behringer X32 digital audio consoles.
Some effects plugins can only operate in slots 1 thru 4, and this allows them to be used as intended (or required in the case of some plugins).
This also allows a user to insert things like multiple graphic EQ's beyond just the 4 dual or stereo units that can be inserted in only FX Rack slots 5 thru 8.
This is demonstrated on the Midas M32, but everything is exactly the same procedure for the Behringer X32 mixer. The console GUI is also the same.
This procedure allows for another tech tool in the audio toolkit of techs using these mixing consoles. Cover bands, praise bands, freelance audio techs / engineers should all find this useful information to know. The procedure is simple, but hides a bit in plain sight.
