Warner Bros Animation does one thing and they do one thing very well. Put that together with a combination of humor, an old school Super Friends cartoon vibe, and the current DC comics characters and Lego you have the latest DC animated feature: LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League - Attack of the Legion of Doom! Full of subtle hints and nods to old and new comic book fans alike it is basically a story for kids with comedy for adults.
Not to spoil it but it has so many Easter eggs and jokes geared to comic book fans and the signature click clacks of the popular movie ‘The Lego Movie’. Kids will be entertained with the simple renderings of the Lego versions of their favorite justice league characters and it will be enjoyable to watch by their parents who remember the Legion of Doom from the old cartoon. It teaches lessons to kids about acceptance and how to believe in yourself in a fun comedic way of course.
What gives this movie 4.75 out of 5 is how it can be enjoyed by all ages. It’s not perfect but it comes very, very, close. It does leave non-comic book fans in the dark with some references but in the end do a very good job in telling a coherent story that keeps everyone entertained.
It can be purchased or even rented via most digital on demand services or DVD
