Mutobo's group welcomed its fourth baby this year. This is an amazing achievement for a single gorilla family! 🦍
We're thrilled for first-time mom Akariza and proud father Mutobo, as their family now totals 12 members.
This baby represents the fifth generation of gorillas descended from matriarch Effie, who holds the record for the most living descendants among gorillas that we have monitored since Dian Fossey's time (Effie-Poppy-Ishyaka-Akariza-newbaby).
