Oncology for Students: Prostate cancer: LHRH agonists (such as leuprolide) used in the treatment of prostate cancer are known to cause a "flare" through a transient increase in testosterone. LHRH agonists should be started with an antiandrogen (such as bicalutamide) to help prevent this from occurring.
