Minute Talks takes you to a tamales making tryouts. This is my first time to make tamales which is a favorite dish in Mexico, Latin America and among Hispanic Americans in the USA. It's a favorite potluck dish during parties and special occasions. They taste good but they're challenging to make. It takes time, patience and a lot of TLC (tender living care). The fresh masa (grated/grounded corn) is now bought in the grocery stores or buy the dry masa flour. I added baking powder, salt and egg to mix the batter. The filling is made of roasted chicken meat, potatoes, carrots and spring onions flavored with cream of chicken. The wrappings is made of banana leaves you can buy ready to use. I did not use the corn husks maybe next time. Wrap the batter and filling together and steam it for 30 to 45 minutes to cook the masa. Take it out from the steamer and its good to eat the tamal or tamales (if you eat more than one like me) while hot. Hmmm yummy. Any suggestions to improve my tamales preparation and taste is welcomed. Leave your comments down below and don't forget to like and subscribe. Thank you for watching and support.
