Índice de Precios al Consumidor o CPI ( por sus siglas en ingles) , es una medida clave de la inflación. Representa el cambio promedio en los precios de una canasta de bienes y servicios que las personas consumen en su vida diaria.

Si el CPI sube más de lo esperado, esto puede indicar una alta inflación. En este caso, los traders pueden anticipar que el banco central aumentará las tasas de interés para controlar la inflación.
