Shuai Zhang, associate professor at the Department of Electronic Systems, was in 2016 selected as one of Aalborg University’s research talents participating in a three-year highly-focused talent management programme. He is researching on multi-band reconfigurable millimeter-wave phased arrays for 5g mobile handsets and network testing.
Aalborg University’s talent management programme supports the development of junior talented researchers. The University hopes to help them evolve into strong and ambitious researchers and research leaders. In 2016 and 2017, Aalborg University selected 28 research talents to receive grants.
Each talent receives funding that may be used for the employment of PhD students, postdocs or other academic staff; it may also be used for the purchase of equipment, the running of a laboratory, conference and symposium attendances or for a stay at a university abroad.
As part of the talent management programme, the research talents are also offered personal guidance on career opportunities and the acquisition of external funding. Furthermore participants are provided an academic mentor and are required to participate in a formalised research leadership training programme.
Aalborg University’s ambitious talent management programme is part of the University’s strategy Knowledge for the World 2016-21 and the strategic initiatives for research. Read more about the talents: [ Ссылка ]
