I have always wanted to combine virtual reality with art / architectural history. The technology is such now that it is not so hard to do. With VR, plus historical preservation techniques, it is possible to travel virtually to various different parts of the world and experience our rich cultural history. In this video, I explain where you can acquire accurate models of historical sites -- I use the Chichen Itza observatory. Then, with a little bit of work in Unreal Engine, you can be exploring them in VR in just a matter of a few minutes. It is the next best thing to being there, especially if you have a premium headset like Occulus or HTC Vive (this is what I use). Follow the link above to get the finished product and walk through it if you have one of these headsets. Or, download your own model and mess around with it in Unreal Engine 4. I have lots of videos about how to use UE4, or you can learn everything you need to know in my UE4 for arch viz class, which can be found at [ Ссылка ]
