.In an exclusive interview on Frankly Speaking with Navika Kumar, Trinamool Congress Derek O’Brien hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the Pegasus snooping row and the West Bengal elections. He said that the TMC has demanded an independent judicial inquiry in the Pegasus issue. Speaking on recently-held West Bengal polls in which TMC had emerged victorious, he said, “The struggle of Mamata Banerjee has made her a three-time CM, seven-time MP. It doesn't come easy.” He said that the BJP faced defeat in the Bengal polls because Banerjee delivered on her promises, and the people saw it. “The BJP was humiliated in the West Bengal elections. The BJP is the number one party for turncoats in the country…The combination of mass leaders like Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee is a fabulous combination to have,” he added.
