Donald Helme, UK College of Communication and Information, is focusing on strategies to raise awareness and increase use of drug disposal boxes and take-back events in an effort to combat the growing opioid epidemic. Helme is working with the Kentucky Attorney General's Office to gauge public opinion on Deterra, a drug deactivation pouch, that people could use in their own homes.
