At a time when they are needed more than ever, teachers are deserting the profession. In fact, there are now so many throwing away their chalk and walking out of the classroom that finding replacements to fill the void is an almost impossible assignment. Sarah Abo speaks with teachers who used to love their careers but are now fed up. They tell her the joy has been sucked out of the job and they've had enough of being underpaid and overworked. The lack of teachers has become such a crisis in schools around the country that students are suffering, and that has experts fearing a significant failure for Australia's future.
