Stimorol is a well-known brand of chewing gum that originated in Denmark. The story of Stimorol begins with the Danish company Dandy, which was founded by Holger Sørensen in 1915 in Vejle, Denmark. Initially, the company was named Vejle Caramel- og Tabletfabrik, but it was later renamed Dansk Tyggegummifabrik A/S.
Stimorol, the brand that would become Dandy’s most popular, was introduced in 1956. It started as a product sold primarily in Scandinavia but quickly expanded to other European countries, beginning with the Netherlands in 1959. Over the years, Stimorol became known for its innovative flavors and sugar-free options, which were introduced in 1978.
In 2002, Cadbury-Schweppes acquired the branded chewing gum business of Dandy, including Stimorol. Today, Stimorol is owned by the Italian-Dutch company Perfetti Van Melle.
