Jules Massenet's opera based on the character of Don Quixote, made alive in the novel of the same title by Miguel de Cervantes. The original story by Cervantes was published in 1605. Massenet's opera was written in 1910. The librettist to the opera was Henry Cain and he wrote the libretto based on a French play. It is somewhat like a forgotten or unknown episode, not really in Cervantes' work, but based on it's characters. The music and the libretto are both comedic and delightful but also dramatic and sorrowful. I put English captions to it for the benefit and education of English speakers.
It's a very small video - best viewed on a tablet or a phone. The sound is quite good.
