Giant Broadbill Swordfish off the Florida coast with Booby Trap Fishing Team

The Booby Trap Fishing Team left Texas in search of a 500 plus pound swordfish off Florida's East Coast and it took them almost 3 weeks to accomplish their goal. Once catching the 650 lb swordfish they then returned to their home port in Texas waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Freeport Texas

This Monster 650 lb Swordfish was caught on an LP-S1200 and took 4 and a half hours to catch.

Swordfish are vigorous, powerful fighters. When hooked or harpooned, they have been known to dive so quickly that they have impaled their swords into the ocean bottom up to their eyes. Although there are no reports of unprovoked attacks on humans, swordfish can be very dangerous when harpooned. They have run their swords through the planking of small boats when hurt.
