Developed an awful clanking noise on the rebuild. The pros told me I had either thrown a crankshaft connecting rod cap, or a real bad case of timing chain slap. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I found the culprit... The fuel pump pressure line slapping a vent pipe. Harmonics? Either way, I dodged an engine rebuild. Whew!
