Fifteen years ago, MassChallenge was founded with a clear mission: to help startups win.
Today, MassChallenge stands as a unique global nonprofit in a predominantly for-profit arena, supporting mainstream entrepreneurs, purpose-driven entrepreneurs, and social changemakers. With over 100,000 direct participants and 4,300 alumni across diverse sectors like health, sustainable food systems, enterprise technology, and social impact, our influence is vast. Nearly 50% of our startups are led by female founders, and over 50% by founders of color. We boast an IPO rate competitive with other industry accelerators and have 250 nonprofit alumni, collaborating with venture capitalists, community organizations, public-private partnerships, and the Department of Defense.
Looking ahead, MassChallenge will continue building a global network for innovators solving massive challenges. We will champion our open-source acceleration process, support creative and collaborative community-led innovation, and focus on addressing ecosystem gaps.
