Don't be afraid to break a teaching contract.
Most of the scare tactics to keep you in the profession really aren't worth their weight.
Schools say they will revoke your teaching credentials, fine you, or that you will regret burning bridges...but that isn't the case.
Districts rarely go after #teachers who have left. They just don't have the time or the effort.
Administrators just say that to force you to stay in a position that is breaking your #mentalhealth because it is inconvenient for them to see you leave midyear...particularly since they can't replace you with a quality teacher anymore.
Teacher unions only reinforce these tactics as well because they are there to uphold the contract, NOT protect you. (We covered this in a podcast episode with Stephen Anthony Guerriero a while back if you are interested in that by the way.)
You aren't going to be a teacher anymore anyway so all of those things they say they will do should have no hold over you...so go ahead get out if you need to.
Become a #transitioningteacher!
Just make sure when you break a contract that you know the district's policies and have an idea of what you need to do and the money/job situation you will have following your #edxit.
