The Gotthard Road Tunnel (German: Gotthard-Strassentunnel; Italian: Galleria stradale del San Gottardo) is a Swiss road tunnel connecting the village of Göschenen located in the canton of Uri with the village of Airolo located in the canton of Ticino. The tunnel runs through the Gotthard Massif below the Gotthard Pass.
At 16,942 meters it is the longest road tunnel in Switzerland (the longest road tunnel in the world is the Lærdalstunnel in Norway with a length of 24.5 km).
