Try out this Puri Saagu recipe which is a perfect combination to serve in breakfasts. The crispy, less oily and pluffy puris go amazingly with the fresh coconut curry.
Serving - 4 to 5
For puri -
2 cups wheat flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp fine semolina
2 tbsp oil
3/4 cup water
For saagu -
3 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin seed
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp asafoitida or hing
Some curry leaves
3 chopped tomatoes
1 tsp salt
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped beans
1 cup green peas
1 knol khol
2 diced potatoes
1 cup water
For masala paste -
1 tsp oil
1 tsp cumin seed
4 to 5 small cinnamon sticks
3 cardamom
4 to 5 cloves
1/2 inch ginger
2 green chillies
Some curry leaves
3 tbsp roasted chana dal
1/2 cup grated fresh coconut
1/2 cup mint leaves
1 cup coriander leaves
1 cup water
1 cup water
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
