A railway employee gets mainly three types of leave during service.
LAP:- Leave Average Pay. This is the earned leave. He/she have to perform a full month then he/she earn 2.5 LAP. After completing six months duty a 15 days LAP add to his leave account. If he/she doesn't take any leave during this period this total leave the whole 15 days LAP balance in his/her account.
A railway employee can accumulate a maximum of 300 days LAP during his total service life. At the time of retirement, the railway will pay for the leaves unused in monetary terms.
LHAP:- leave on Half Average Pay. This is a medical leave. If a railway employee gets sick and under-treatment of the doctor then he can avail this leave. 10 numbers of leaves are added to an employee’s leave account after six months of duty. Its accumulation has no limit.
CL:- Casual Leave. 10 leaves get added on 1st January of every year. This leaves will not be carried forward to the following year.
