Whether you’re new to scientific publishing, have many research papers to your credit or are a seasoned investigator with your own lab, errors in presenting your research can cause honest hard work to be muddied and dent your credibility. APS has developed the Publications 101 symposia to address a number of pitfalls that arise in scientific publishing including publications ethics and copyright issues along with pointers on how to submit your manuscript and professional conduct. Publications 101 is presented annually at the Experimental Biology meeting. Here, we present a shortened version of that symposium.
