After swimming with the Whale Sharks in the early morning, we then took a 20 minute boat ride from the town of Oslob to Sumilon Island to see the famous sandbar. We made sure we arrive there in the morning so the sandbar is visible. Sometimes in the afternoon, the sandbar may disappear under the waters when it's high tide.

The sandbar at Sumilon Island in Cebu, Philippines is probably the top attraction of the island. The season, time of day and the weather determines the shape of the sandbar. Fine white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters are what makes the Sumilon sandbar so pristine!

You can snorkel or dive around its coral reefs. There is one resort on the island and it is the Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort. Cebu has so many beaches and other natural tourist attractions. Even as the beaches of Cebu are already world-class, some of them feature sandbars that make them more appealing to visitors. So the next time you visit Cebu, make sure you explore one of its 7 sandbars.
