A new Class 331 passes through Wigan North Western on a test run on Friday 08th February 2019. Unlike my previous shot of 331001 which crept in slowly we see 331108 come through a lot faster as it heads North. This is a four car unit as noted by the /1 subclass with the 3 car units being classed as 331/0.
43 Class 331 units are being built for Arriva Trains Northern by Spanish manufacturers CAF and shares an almost identical bodyshell with the Class 195 diesel units of which 58 of those are being built for Northern.
As with last time, I wasn't at Wigan to film this unit but was actually there for 68001 which was working a Scotland bound Rugby Special as shown here;
