STORYLINE
Iconic comic book hero Asterix celebrated his 50th anniversary with a new album of stories officially released on Wednesday evening.
"The Birthday Of Asterix And Obelix. The Golden Book", marks the 50th anniversary of Asterix first appearance in French magazine Pilote in 1959.
The event is part of a series of exhibitions and special events this week in France.
The character was created by Albert Uderzo and Ren� Goscinny and Asterix books have sold over 325 (m) million units worldwide and have been translated into more than 100 languages and dialects.
