Stillwater Critical Minerals is advancing its 100% owned Stillwater West project in south-central Montana, immediately adjacent to Sibanye-Stillwater’s producing PGM mine complex that has been expanding since 1986. Stillwater West is the largest nickel resource in an active U.S. mining jurisdiction. There is just one operating primary nickel mine in the US, despite the government’s stated priority mandate to secure critical mineral supply chains. The project further hosts significant inventoried quantities of six other minerals listed as critical by both the US Geological Survey (USGS) and the Department of Energy (DoE), including cobalt, copper, palladium, platinum, rhodium, and chromium, along with thus far unquantified amounts of ruthenium and iridium.
