A moment during Scar’s number “be prepared” is inspired by a historical event and figure. As the hyenas march past Scar whilst he is up above looking down on them, the scene is reminiscent of footage of the Nazis marching past Adolf Hitler when he is up on high. This not only hints at Scar’s part as a villain in the story, but also hints at Scar’s role as a dictator when in the role of King of Pride Rock later in the film.
