Before you go driving in the snow, pack a Winter Road Trip Safety Kit.

Start with a plastic storage tote and pack it with chains, reflective gear, a windshield scraper, waterproof jacket, a towel to use when installing chains and for drying off, a headlamp, as well as gloves and a hat. You’ll also want to bring along some snacks and a few bottles of water for everyone, including your pets.
