This was a dive on the broken off bow section of the artificial wreck USS Arthur Radford. It was a 563' Spruance-class destroyer in the United States Navy and the largest purposely sunk ship on the east coast. It was sunk on August 10, 2011 on the Del-Jersey-Land inshore reef approximately 30 miles from Cape May NJ. After Hurricane Irene the wreck broke into three sections . The bow sat on its side in 135' of water with about 40' of relief at its highest point. Bottom temps on this dive were 53 degrees with clear blue water down to 80' with more common greenish water down to the sand. Visibility was decent around 15'-20'
