Black Sabbath' Geezer Butler is not only one of the founding fathers of Heavy Metal, but is also possibly one of the most influential Metal bass players of all times. Together with Bill Ward and Toni Iomi Geezer formed of the most recognisable rhythm sections which inspired thousands of musicians around the world to develop their own metal sub genres.
And so what we can do is take a look at some of the earliest Black Sabbath bass lines from the first three albums Black Sabbath, Paranoid and Master of Reality and see how that rhythm section was formed.
We will take a look at the following songs:
Black Sabbath - After Forever
Black Sabbath - N.I.B.
Black Sabbath - Children of the Grave
Black Sabbath - War Pigs
Black Sabbath - Sweet Leaf
Black Sabbath - Iron Man
Black Sabbath - Into the Void
