Explore a vernal pool with the Buzzards Bay Coalition. Join Jack Sidar and Mead Binhammer, members of the Coalition's land stewardship team, as they survey a newly discovered vernal pool at the Mattapoisett River Reserve, discovering tadpoles, salamander eggs and larvae and more.
While they are working to survey the vernal pool, they explain the important role that vernal pools play in amphibians' life cycle, and they demonstrate the steps that need to be taken to certify a vernal pool to ensure this sensitive habitat is protected.
