This was one of a few Lighthouses that I missed out on recording, before my redundancy as a Lighthouse Keeper way back in 1997. Fast forward to 2021 and I obtained permission from Trinity House to video Caldey and Flatholm Lighthouses.
This is my record of my trip to Caldey Island, where I was in the company of the Attendant, John Cattini. Caldey was automated a very long time ago, and I've never found anybody to interview that had ever served there. However, this Lighthouse and Island was too good to miss out on.
The Island is owned and run by Monks, and is open to visitors from Easter until the end of October, weather permitting.
