Excerpted from Pink Martini's concert DVD release "Discover the World," this performance was filmed live in concert at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland Oregon on December 31, 2005, featuring vocalist China Forbes. Pink Martini's version of "Tempo perdido" was originally heard on the band's third album, Hey Eugene! The song was written, in Portuguese, by the Brazilian musician and composer Ataulfo Alves, and original sung in 1934 by the superstar Carmen Miranda. This version features Thomas Lauderdale on the piano, China Forbes on vocals, Gavin Bondy on trumpet, with a trombone solo by Robert Taylor.
