Sylvia McEwan is a world-renowned abstract figurative artist out of Brisbane, Australia. McEwan began her artistic career in sculpture. She was initially drawn to the physical, hands-on, and three-dimensional nature of the craft. As she began to explore figure painting, McEwan found these sculpture elements expressing themselves on canvas.

Inspired by the forms and colors of artists such as Diebenkorn, De Kooning, and Cézanne, McEwan seeks to celebrate expressionism and the abstract in her approach to the female figure.
