Day 4 (of 10) of my Annual Girl's Trip to San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. I have filmed a couple of videos here but have not been able to upload them due to the poor/variable internet strength. Finally, this super short video uploaded!
In this video, my four girlfriends and I do a side by side comparison of the Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Baby Facial ($80) vs the Ordinary AHA/BHA Peeling Mask ($8).
I have LOVED the Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Baby Facial! For over a year I have used it once a week and have found it to be a super effective, powerful, chemical exfoliating treatment mask. It always leaves my skin baby bottom soft and smooth and eliminates all flaky/peelies as well as giving my skin a beautiful radiance. It has also been effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines and pigmentation.
However, DE is $80 for 1.69 ounces. The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution (Dupe) is a fraction of the cost at under $8 for 1 ounce. The list of active alpha and beta hydroxy acids is virtually identical (glycolic, lactic, tartaric, and Citric acids) The Ordinary Strength of AHA 30% is higher, but you leave the mask on for only 10 minutes vs 20 minutes for the DE. (DE AHA is 25%)
My four girlfriends and I did a side by side comparison....and found The Ordinary to give virtually identical results as the DE, in terms of tingling sensation, and effectiveness of the exfoliation. Please note...one out of the five of us did find the Ordinary to be irritating, and her skin on the Ordinary side was visibly red and irritated, but she tolerated the Drunk Elephant without difficulty.
The red pigment of The Ordinary is slightly off-putting, (Tasmanian berry) but I can handle it for this kind of savings!
Would love to hear your thoughts on these treatment masks!
