HISTORIC PONY TRUSS BRIDGE - Watch as we discuss the closure of the Original Pony Truss Bridge near Bridgeport, OK and show you a video of when we crossed it in November 2019. So glad we got to cross this historic bridge before they started the refurb project.
The bridge was originally built in 1934 and consisted of 38 pony trusses. It was considered the longest bridge on historic Route 66 in Oklahoma. We are so thankful we got to go over this awesome old bridge before they started the current project.
Reportedly, the bridge will reopen with the trusses being placed on the side of the bridge to resemble to old bridge, but it will definitely not be the same.
