As Shri Akal Takht has declared Shiromani Akali Dal Chief, Sukhbir Singh Badal 'tankhaiya' for alleged religious misconduct, AAP MP from Punjab Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer on August 30 said that Sukhbir Singh Badal should immediately resign as the chief of Shiromani Akali Dal.
"...I would like to say one thing - he has been declared a 'Tankhaiya' by Akal Takht. So, Sukhbir Singh Badal should immediately resign...Shiromani Akali Dal has such a long and proud history and the chief of that party is a 'Tankhaiya'. So, if he has any morality left in him, I think he should resign from his post after this decision of the Akal Takht..." said Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer.
