Chris Mepham came through the ranks at Brentford's infamous B team project, when they disbanded their Academy and left the U21s League, but he's spent the last five years at Bournemouth in and out of their first team eventually being deemed surplus to requirements this season. His last game for Bournemouth was in a 2-1 win over Everton last March and since then he's appeared for Wales in the Nations League.
He signed for Sunderland on a season long loan on the 30th August and will become a free agent next summer. He was an unused substitute against Plymouth last week, but precautionary measures over Dan Ballard meant he was granted his debut for Sunderland today at home to Middlesbrough.
