Police have arrested a man in connection with the theft of a car battery at a hypermarket parking lot here.
Gombak police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said a 31-year-old man was arrested on Thursday to help facilitate investigations.
He said in a statement, police also seized a car battery from the man.
He said the case has been classified under Section 379A(1) of the Penal Code for theft of vehicle components.
It was reported earlier today that a video of a man breaking into a car and stealing its battery at a hypermarket here had gone viral.
The 18-second video, which has been viewed 147,000 times, shows footage believed to be from the vehicle's dashboard camera.
